Our commitment
The Bearded Chef is committed to protecting the privacy of our clients, suppliers and website visitors. We process personal information lawfully, for defined purposes, and in a manner that respects the eight conditions for lawful processing set out in POPIA: accountability, processing limitation, purpose specification, further processing limitation, information quality, openness, security safeguards and data subject participation.

Your rights as a data subject
In terms of POPIA, you have the right to:
- Be notified when your personal information is collected, or when it has been accessed by an unauthorised person;
- Request confirmation, free of charge, of whether we hold personal information about you;
- Request a record or description of that personal information;
- Request correction, destruction or deletion of personal information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date, incomplete, misleading or unlawfully obtained;
- Object, on reasonable grounds, to the processing of your personal information;
- Object to processing for purposes of direct marketing, and to not receive unsolicited electronic communications;
- Not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing;
- Institute civil proceedings regarding alleged interference with the protection of your personal information;
- Complain to the Information Regulator.
How to make a request
Send your request to our Information Officer at info@thebeardedchef.co.za, stating clearly what information the request concerns and what you would like us to do. We may ask for proof of identity to protect your information before acting on a request. We aim to respond within a reasonable time and in any event within the timeframes prescribed by POPIA.
